Welcome to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Course


Welcome to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods asynchronous course. Through this course, you will learn the basics of:


  • classifying dangerous goods
  • taking advantage of many useful exemptions
  • filling out shiipin documents
  • labeling and placard shipments
  • choosing means of containment
  • using emergency response assistance plans and when to report incidents
  • registering your site with Transport Canada.

The course is facilitated by Stewart Sampson, CRSP and is modular (meaning you can go through each module separately). While the course itself is estimated to take 2.5 to 3 hours, there is no actual time limit for any module or for the course overall. However, you must complete all modules before you are eligible for a completion certificate.


To complete the course:

  • Download the Participants' Guide
  • Click on the videos (You Tube links) in turn to go through the modules
  • Download the final quiz and answer sheet and return the completed quiz.
